AGRISAL, Asociación La Escalón, and the la Oficina de Planificación del Área Metropolitana de San Salvador (OPAMSS) reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable urban development through a joint initiative that seeks to consolidate the Colonia Escalón neighborhood as a benchmark for urban development in El Salvador.
The meeting brought together representatives from the public sector, private companies, real estate developers, trade associations, and business leaders to promote a common agenda that fosters orderly, competitive, and inclusive development in this important area of the capital.
The La Escalón initiative began more than fifteen years ago as an effort driven by AGRISAL to bring together various stakeholders committed to the development of the neighborhood. It later gave rise to the Asociación La Escalón, establishing a platform for ongoing collaboration focused on strengthening security, urban planning, community integration, and the sustainability of the area.
During the opening, Ricardo E. Augspurg Meza, director of AGRISAL Inmobiliario, emphasized that the growth of the Colonia Escalón neighborhood represents an opportunity to build a more humane city through collaborative work.
“Escalón is transforming very rapidly; and it is up to us to support it, each of us in our respective roles”.
He said that this evolution should translate into higher-quality public spaces, sustainable mobility, security, well-being, and a greater sense of community.
Luis Rodríguez, executive director of OPAMSS, underscored the importance of strengthening a shared vision that integrates planning, mobility, public space, and collaboration among the various stakeholders to build a more competitive and resilient city.
Likewise, José Velásquez, president of CASALCO, highlighted that the transformation of cities is only possible through effective collaboration between the public sector, private enterprise, and society.
Rather than presenting a specific project, La Escalón is consolidating a collaborative platform aimed at promoting initiatives that strengthen the region’s competitiveness, improve the urban experience, and contribute to the sustainable development of San Salvador.
For AGRISAL, urban development means creating environments that foster people’s well-being, strengthen economic activity, and promote more sustainable, inclusive, and future-proof cities.
With this new phase, AGRISAL and Asociación La Escalón reaffirm their commitment to continue promoting partnerships that contribute to building a more humane and sustainable city.
