For the second consecutive year, the Ministerio de Trabajo of El Salvador awarded Grupo Ternova the Premio Nacional al Trabajo Decente a distinction given to companies that demonstrate sustained practices of decent employment, social protection, and regulatory compliance.
In this edition, Grupo Ternova was evaluated on its internal training programs, equal opportunity policies, and labor compliance systems.
“The true success of a company is not measured solely in numbers, but in the improvement of the quality of life of those who make our operations possible every day. This recognition confirms that, as we grow as a company, we also grow in security and opportunities for our people”, said Rodrigo Tona, CEO of Grupo Ternova.
In recent years, the company has strengthened its occupational health, technical training, and social integration programs, as well as promoting internal initiatives that reflect its commitment to an inclusive, diverse, and equitable work environment, such as the increasing integration of people with disabilities into its operations.
The award was presented by the Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, and received by a delegation of Grupo Ternova leaders, including Marcella Romero, Legal and Corporate Affairs manager, and Javier Antonio Orantes, Lead Flexible Packaging Conversion operator.
“When a company incorporates decent work into its DNA and goes beyond mere rhetoric, the results become visible. This recognition is the clearest demonstration that we comply with the fundamental legal principle in labor matters: protecting people”, said Marcella Romero, Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager at Ternova.
Among the advances highlighted by the Ministry of Labor are more training opportunities for operational staff, support programs for new hires, initiatives to integrate people with disabilities, and improvements in working conditions at the plant. According to the evaluation, these results reflect an environment where “people find stability, growth, and dignified treatment”.
The Premio Nacional al Trabajo Decente is an initiative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare that seeks to recognize good employers who create dignified working conditions and promote sound business practices within the framework of national labor laws.
