In order to contribute to children, adolescents and youth in public schools in the municipality of Soyapango, Walmart de México y Centroamérica in El Salvador made a donation of US$10,000 for the implementation of the Alto Impacto Soyapango project that the Fundación Rafael Meza Ayau is carrying out in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The project seeks to improve the quality of educational competencies through technological innovation in students through the components: Collective Impact, Economic Growth, Youth Development, which includes the implementation of STEAM technology; and Early Childhood, benefiting more than 10,000 people in conditions of social vulnerability.
“At Walmart we are committed to helping families and communities in El Salvador to improve their living conditions through important allies such as the Fundación Rafael Meza Ayau. Today, we are part of the inauguration of the STEAM classroom at the Centro Escolar Altos de Monte Carmelo in Soyapango, one of the schools benefiting from the Alto Impacto Soyapango program that the foundation carries out in partnership with USAID”, said Sandra Cáceres, Corporate Affairs Coordinator in El Salvador.
This alliance is formed with implementing partners, private enterprise and the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, which began in may 2021 to contribute to improving the quality of life of families in Soyapango, through the articulation of key sectors that increase opportunities for economic and social development of the municipality.
This is the second year that Walmart has benefited the municipality of Soyapango through this program. In total, US$20,000 has been donated to the Alto Impacto Soyapango program, benefiting 20,000 salvadorans.
