A total of 501 export permits covering more than 1,900,000 kilograms of coffee were authorized from august 12 to december 2025 through the Centro de Trámites de Exportación (CIEX) of El Salvador, reported the Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador (BCR).
According to the institution, the authorizations were carried out through CIEX El Salvador, in coordination with the Instituto Salvadoreño del Café, as part of the regulated process that guarantees the quality, traceability, and compliance with the established requirements for marketing the coffee beans in international markets.
The authorized volume reflects the dynamism of the coffee sector in the second half of the year, a key period for marketing the aromatic bean. Each permit issued supports export operations that comply with technical and regulatory standards, facilitating access for Salvadoran coffee to various destinations.
The BCR highlighted that the coordinated work among the institutions involved streamlines procedures and provides certainty for exporters. CIEX El Salvador acts as the platform that centralizes and processes applications, while the Instituto Salvadoreño del Café verifies technical aspects related to product quality and certification.
Coffee exports represent a strategic activity for the national economy, not only for generating foreign exchange but also for their impact on rural employment and the production chain, which includes producers, processors, roasters, and exporting companies.
With these authorizations, the country continues to position its coffee in the international market, supported by a control and oversight system that seeks to strengthen competitiveness and the confidence of international buyers.
