The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM announced this monday the new reference prices for fuels, which will be in effect from july 22 to august 4, 2025, throughout El Salvador.

According to the agency, prices are showing mixed variations, primarily due to international factors such as the decline in oil reserves in the United States, fluctuations in diesel inventories, and impacts on the production of derivatives due to interruptions at North American refineries.
For this period, Premium and Regular gasoline prices remain unchanged, while diesel registered an increase of US$0.07 in all three regions of the country.
The new prices are as follows:
• Central Zone: Superior US$3.95, Regular US$3.70, Diesel US$3.49
• Western Zone: Superior US$3.96, Regular US$3.71, Diesel US$3.50
• Eastern Zone: Superior US$3.99, Regular US$3.74, Diesel US$3.54
The reference prices include all current taxes, such as the IEC, FEFE, and COTRANS, which are intended to stabilize public transportation fares.

In addition, the DGEHM emphasized that it has strengthened inspections at service stations to ensure the quality and exact quantity of fuel dispensed, and reminded that gas stations are required to comply with the law and face penalties for irregularities.
Authorities recommend that consumers compare prices and choose the station that provides the best service and a fair price for their family budget.
