El Salvador’s Vice President, Félix Ulloa, met with Colombia’s Vice President-elect, José Manuel Restrepo, and the designated Minister of Foreign Affairs, Omar Bula, during the official events of Colombia’s Presidential Inauguration Ceremony. The meeting focused on strengthening economic, trade, and technological cooperation between the two nations.
One of the main agreements was to promote the creation of a Binational Business Council, which would bring salvadoran and colombian companies closer together to promote trade, investment, and new business opportunities.
During the meeting, Ulloa also shared El Salvador’s progress in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, including the agreement with Google Cloud, the digitization of procedures in institutions such as the CNR, and the DoctorSV app.
Another topic addressed was the development of digital assets and tokenization. The Vice President highlighted the creation of the Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales and the regulatory framework implemented in this sector.
As a result of the meeting, Colombian officials expressed their interest in making an official visit to El Salvador to learn about the country’s progress in technology, digital assets, and other strategic sectors.
This outreach aims to expand opportunities for trade, investment, innovation, and business cooperation between El Salvador and Colombia, strengthening the economic relationship between the two nations.
