The country has taken a significant step toward strengthening its productive capacity with the official start of the planting of more than 10,000 acres of corn, a strategy that seeks to increase national yields and move toward food self-sufficiency. The program, which is part of efforts to boost the agricultural economy, incorporates state-of-the-art technology and practices aimed at reducing costs and improving productivity.

During the presentation of the project, cooperatives, associations, and agricultural unions saw firsthand the machinery used, including tractors with ecological systems that significantly reduce pollutant emissions. In addition, DJI T100 drones were incorporated to optimize monitoring and the application of inputs to crops.
The plan also includes the delivery of inputs at cost price, which reduces production costs by almost half, both for mechanized and manual labor. Added to this are high-yield hybrid seeds that are not genetically modified, specialized technical assistance, and satellite monitoring using technology provided by Google, tools that seek to increase productivity up to three times the national average.

One of the economic pillars of the program is the promise of direct marketing, eliminating intermediaries and guaranteeing better incomes for producers, while maintaining affordable prices for the population. This mechanism aims to strengthen the profitability of the agricultural sector and encourage more farmers to participate in the production chain.
The Production Increase Program covers fruits, vegetables, and basic grains such as beans and corn, which are considered essential for the country’s food security. The initiative will gradually be expanded to other high-consumption products, with the aim of continuing to promote rural economic development and reduce dependence on imports.
With this commitment, the country seeks not only to improve its agricultural production, but also to consolidate a more efficient, modern, and sustainable model that contributes to economic dynamism at the national level.
