El Salvador has achieved a significant achievement by ranking as the number one country in Latin America in trade facilitation, according to the sustainability indicator of the Trade Facilitation Committees of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). With a score of 88 out of 100, the country reaffirms its commitment to creating a favorable environment for trade and investment.
This recognition is the result of the actions and policies implemented by the Government of El Salvador, under the leadership of Nayib Bukele and the Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem. These strategies have made it possible to streamline trade processes, reduce bureaucratic barriers and strengthen transparency in import and export operations.
