This event makes it the first stock exchange in Latin America to establish an exchange dedicated to the issuance, management, trading, and custody of digital assets.
This new exchange is born as the digital arm of the Grupo Bolsa de Valores de El Salvador, with the objective of integrating digital assets to the traditional financial ecosystem. Rolando Duarte, president of the Bolsa de Valores, emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting that it positions the country at the forefront of financial innovation and provides investors with a transparent and accessible platform.
To guarantee a secure and efficient operation, Digital Exchange has the support of Koibanx, a leader in blockchain technology and asset tokenization. This strategic alliance ensures that transactions are carried out quickly and reliably, strengthening confidence in the digital asset market in El Salvador.
The project is framed within the Digital Asset Issuance Law and has the support of the Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales (CNAD) .The work of this entity has been fundamental to guarantee compliance with high regulatory standards, ensuring that the operation of Digital Exchange is governed under principles of transparency and security.
Valentín Arrieta, Executive Director of the El Salvador Stock Exchange, highlighted the impact of this initiative on the evolution of the country’s financial market.
