El Salvador is seeking to expand business opportunities for its national pharmaceutical industry in Bolivia, following the entry into force of the Partial Scope Agreement between the two countries. As part of this strategy, the Salvadoran Diplomatic Mission in Bolivia held a virtual forum for companies interested in exporting and positioning their products in that market.
The event showcased the commercial opportunities that Bolivia offers to salvadoran producers. With the agreement now in effect, approximately 250 salvadoran manufactured goods, including pharmaceuticals, have preferential access to the bolivian market, opening new possibilities for expanding exports.
During the meeting, information was also provided on aspects that companies interested in doing business and exporting to Bolivia should consider. The goal is for producers to understand market conditions and identify specific opportunities to place their products.
The forum also facilitated networking among businesspeople from both countries. Bolivian companies participated with interest in establishing alliances with salvadoran partners and learning about the commercial opportunities offered by El Salvador, creating possibilities for future business relationships.
The salvadoran Ambassador to Bolivia, Ana Rivas, highlighted that the event facilitated the exchange of information and the identification of opportunities based on El Salvador’s potential as a trading partner for the bolivian market. She also reiterated the importance of leveraging the bilateral agreement.
In total, approximately 50 salvadoran and bolivian businesspeople participated, having the opportunity to learn about the possibilities offered by the new trade framework and explore potential alliances, especially in the pharmaceutical sector.
The event was supported by the Asociación de Representantes Importadores y Distribuidores de Fármacos (ASOFAR) and the law firm Dentons, both from Bolivia, as well as Invest El Salvador. Their participation provided information related to the opportunities and conditions for developing business.
The Partial Scope Agreement, in effect since july 30, represents an opportunity for salvadoran companies to diversify their markets, find new buyers, and establish commercial alliances in Bolivia. The goal is to translate preferential access into increased exports and new business opportunities for the national productive sector.
