The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) announced that reference fuel prices will remain unchanged during the two-week period from may 13 to 26, 2025. This stability is attributed to international factors that have influenced the global oil market, such as the increase in OPEC production and negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding the lifting of sanctions on Iranian crude oil.

According to the DGEHM, prices will remain unchanged in all regions of the country. In the central region, premium gasoline will be priced at US$3.75 per gallon, regular gasoline at US$3.49, and diesel at US$3.23. In the western region, prices will be US$3.76, US$3.50, and US$3.24, respectively. While in the eastern region, fuel prices will be US$3.79, US$3.53 and US$3.28 per gallon.
The agency also clarified that the reference prices include all current statutory taxes, such as the FEFE, IEC, and COTRANS. These taxes are essential for stabilizing public transportation service fares and promoting the country’s economy.

To ensure that consumers receive products with the required technical specifications, the DGEHM has intensified inspections at service stations. These inspections ensure that the exact amount paid for is delivered, under optimal quality conditions.
The DGEHM reiterated that it maintains constant monitoring of companies that sell petroleum products. If irregularities are detected, the corresponding sanctions will be applied, in order to protect consumers and promote competition among gas stations.
