The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) reported that reference fuel prices will remain unchanged for the period from september 2 to 15, 2025, meaning there will be no increases or decreases in costs.
In the central region, a gallon of premium gasoline will continue to be priced at $3.80, regular gasoline at $3.51, and diesel at $3.29.
Meanwhile, in the western region, prices remain at $3.81 for premium gasoline, $3.52 for regular gasoline, and $3.30 for diesel.
Finally, in the eastern region, premium gasoline will continue to cost $3.84, regular gasoline at $3.55, and diesel at $3.34 per gallon.
The DGEHM emphasized that this price stability provides certainty to Salvadoran consumers, who will be able to plan their transportation expenses without being affected by fluctuations in the first half of the month.
Fuel reference prices, effective from september 2 to 15, 2025, remain unchanged and are influenced by the following international factors:
• The imposition of 50% tariffs by the U.S. on Indian imports raises expectations of increased supply in the hydrocarbon market and greater stability in international oil prices.
• The closure of the summer season in the United States maintains expectations of stability in hydrocarbon supply and demand, causing slight fluctuations in international prices for oil and its derivatives.
It is important to clarify that the reference prices include current statutory taxes, as well as the Contribución para la Estabilización de las Tarifas del Servicio Público del Transporte Colectivo de Pasajeros de tipo colectivo y masivo (COTRANS), the Fondo de Estabilización del Fomento Económico (FEFE), and the Impuesto Especial a los Combustibles (IEC).
Inspections at service stations have been strengthened to ensure the quantity and quality of fuel, ensuring that the population receives the volume with the required technical specifications, thus confirming that the exact amount paid for is delivered.
DGEHM inspectors maintain a constant market survey of companies dedicated to the sale of petroleum products; if non-compliance with the law is found, they are subject to the corresponding sanctions. All with the goal of ensuring that the end consumer obtains the maximum benefits from their purchase and that salvadorans can choose the gas station that provides the best service.
