The Dirección General de Energía, Hidrocarburos y Minas (DGEHM) announced that reference fuel prices will remain unchanged for the two-week period from october 14 to 27, 2025.
During this period, the price per gallon of premium gasoline will be US$3.85 in the central zone, US$3.86 in the western zone, and US$3.89 in the eastern zone. Regular gasoline will cost US$3.56 in the central zone, US$3.57 in the western zone, and US$3.60 in the eastern zone. Finally, diesel will remain priced at US$3.36 per gallon in the central zone, US$3.37 in the western zone, and US$3.41 in the eastern zone.

Prices are influenced by the following international factors:
• The International Energy Agency (IEA) reported increases in oil and petroleum products reserves, generating stability in international hydrocarbon prices.
• The IEA raised its estimate of oil production in the United States for the end of 2025, surpassing the record recorded at the end of 2024, causing slight variations in the international prices of its derivatives.
• Israel and Hamas sign the first phase of the US president’s initiative to end the war in Gaza, reducing the geopolitical risk premium for global oil supplies.

It is important to clarify that the reference prices include current statutory taxes, as well as the Contribución para la Estabilización de las Tarifas del Servicio Público del Transporte Colectivo de Pasajeros de tipo colectivo y masivo (COTRANS), the Fondo de Estabilización del Fomento Económico (FEFE) y el Impuesto Especial a los Combustibles (IEC).
Inspections at service stations have been strengthened to ensure the quantity and quality of fuel, ensuring that the population receives the volume with the required technical specifications, thus confirming that the exact amount paid for is delivered.
DGEHM inspectors maintain a constant market survey of companies dedicated to the sale of petroleum products; if non-compliance with the law is found, they are subject to the corresponding sanctions. All with the goal of ensuring that the end consumer obtains the maximum benefits from their purchase and that salvadorans can choose the gas station that provides the best service.
