
The index measuring producer prices in El Salvador showed moderate growth of 1.14% in September 2025, according to the latest report from the Banco Central de Reserva (BCR). This means that, on average, the costs faced by producers to manufacture goods and services have risen slightly over the past year.
The index reached 135.55 in september, with a small monthly increase of 0.19%. Overall, since the beginning of the year, prices have risen by 0.89%. These increases usually influence the final price paid by consumers.

The sectors that saw the greatest price increases in the past year were:
• Healthcare and social services, up 6.95%.
• Transportation and warehousing, which grew 5.73%.
• Education, which increased 4.03%.
• Electricity, gas, and air conditioning supply, up 3.83%.
• Administrative and support services, which grew 3.39%.
This trend indicates that several services are facing rising costs, which could be reflected in higher prices for consumers.
Other sectors showed smaller changes or even decreases in their prices.
This indicator is important because it helps anticipate price changes that affect people and businesses across the country.
