The government continues to position El Salvador as a safe, modern, and open country. Thanks to the transformations implemented, the Tourist Pier at the Port of La Libertad became the venue for Mole Fest Internacional 2025 on july 19th, an unprecedented festival that brought together 25 chefs from various countries to celebrate Latin American identity, memory, and culinary brotherhood.

This gathering is part of the International Mole Route, an initiative that unites flavors and cultures to strengthen ties between sister nations. The arrival of this festival on salvadoran soil confirms the country’s new international prestige, which today projects itself as a host of high-level events capable of attracting tourism, investment, and opportunities for cultural development.

During the inauguration, Tourism minister Morena Valdez highlighted the role of gastronomy as a driver of tourism growth: “Eighty percent of tourists worldwide are drawn to a country’s gastronomy, so imagine the importance of cuisine in continuing to boost tourism in El Salvador”.
Corsatur’s executive director, Alejandra Durán, emphasized the port’s importance as a key tourism destination: “The Port of La Libertad is the most visited destination in the country. Today we are promoting this multi-destination; what better way to showcase what’s happening in the country with gastronomy than”, she said.

The International Mole Fest was led by chef David Najarro, and with the vision of the founder of the Mole Route, Ariosto Camacho, who, along with chefs from across Latin America, created a gastronomic experience that unites peoples and hearts.

Minister Valdez recognized the chefs as true culinary artists, whose talent projects salvadoran identity to the world. She also thanked the sponsors and organizers for their support, making this unprecedented celebration possible on the coast of La Libertad.

With initiatives like the 2025 International Mole Fest, the government reaffirms that El Salvador has been reborn and is consolidating its position as a regional benchmark where flavors and cultures come together.
