Salvadoran coffee exports have experienced a remarkable growth of 52.4% as of may, surpassing US$93.4 million in revenues. This increase is largely due to the activities carried out by the Instituto Salvadoreño del Café (ISC). In volume, exports accumulated 15.47 million kilograms, 18.7% more than in 2024.

This growth is due to initiatives within the salvadoran coffee sector, such as the batch of more than 1,000 quintals of coffee that was sent to Morocco. The purchase price per quintal reached US$350, a figure well above average. This highlights the bet on specialty coffees and demonstrates the interest of international buyers for exclusive products.

Likewise, the Embassy of El Salvador in South Korea has played a key role in the export of 18,975 kilograms of salvadoran gold coffee. This has strengthened the presence of national products in the international market. The embassy facilitated the arrangements to take salvadoran coffee to Asian lands.
The growth in salvadoran coffee exports is an indicator of the sector’s potential. The ISC has worked to boost the competitiveness and recognition of the country’s exportable supply. This has generated more than US$133 million in income in the 2023-2024 coffee fiscal year.
El Salvador continues to consolidate its position in the international coffee market. Exporting salvadoran coffee to new markets is an important step for the country’s economic growth. The coffee sector continues to be an important source of income for El Salvador.
