The Instituto Universitario de Opinión Pública (IUDOP) presented the results of its most recent evaluation survey of the sixth year of President Nayib Bukele’s administration, revealing a mostly positive perception among the population. The study, which was conducted nationwide with a sample of 1,272 people and a confidence level of 95%, also evaluated the performance of the Legislative Assembly and municipalities.
One of the most outstanding findings is that 75.2 % of those surveyed consider that the best thing the country is currently experiencing is security, reflecting the strong support for the public policies implemented in this area. This perception has been a constant in recent years, consolidating security as one of the pillars of the current administration.
In the economic sphere, 68.2% of the population has a positive view of the state of the national economy. Within this group, 40.2% state that the economy has improved, while 28.0% consider that it has remained stable. At the household economy level, 78.7% state that their economic situation has improved or remained stable, which reflects a direct and tangible impact of the economic policies implemented.
Public health also shows signs of progress. According to the study, 47.1% of salvadorans believe that health services have improved in the last year, and 17.5% indicate that they have been maintained. These data reveal a growing level of satisfaction with the quality of essential services, during efforts to strengthen the hospital network and primary care centers.
This IUDOP study offers an encouraging x-ray of citizen perception of the country’s direction. Confidence in public management and in basic services such as health, economy and security shows a favorable trend, strengthening the legitimacy of the government and consolidating the foundations to continue promoting the country’s integral development.
