The cost of goods and services consumed by families registered a moderate increase between november 2024 and november 2025, according to official Consumer Price Index (CPI) data published by the Banco Central de Reserva which measures how prices change over time.

According to the report, the overall index rose from 129.93 points in november 2024 to 131.41 points in november 2025, representing an approximate increase of 1.18% in one year. This means that, on average, prices rose slightly and remained within ranges considered controlled.
A review of the different consumption categories shows that the largest increases occurred in food and services. The price of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose from 152.98 to 156.48 points, equivalent to an increase of 2.3%, influenced by factors such as the season and product availability.

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco also saw an increase, rising from 173.24 to 177 points, a 2.16% rise. In the health sector, prices increased from 113.36 to 115.87 points, representing a 2.23% increase, related to medical services and products.

The largest increase was reported in restaurants and hotels, where the indicator rose from 159 to 164.54 points, a 3.42% increase. This trend is linked to higher service costs and increased consumption outside the home.
In contrast, some categories showed price reductions. Clothing and footwear fell from 100.71 to 100.08 points, a 0.62% decrease, associated with promotions and lower demand.
