
A US delegation identified cooperation and investment opportunities in strategic sectors of El Salvador, such as artificial intelligence, energy, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and technology, during an official visit led by US Under Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Trade Affairs, Caleb Orr.
The official highlighted the interest of US companies in the economic growth and innovation agenda promoted by the government of President Nayib Bukele, stating that the investment opportunities are being closely monitored by international firms and representatives of the private sector.
The US Embassy in El Salvador confirmed that the visit is taking place alongside a delegation comprised of US capital investors and representatives from various US government institutions, who are seeking firsthand knowledge of the economic conditions and business environment in the country.

During his stay, the Under Secretary toured various sites in the Historic Center of San Salvador, accompanied by the Executive Director of the Corporación Salvadoreña de Turismo Alejandra Durán.
Orr stated that the delegation seeks to understand the opportunities El Salvador offers in areas related to high-tech supply chains, nearshoring, and business innovation.
“San Salvador is beautiful and prosperous, and President Nayib Bukele is transforming it into a high-tech and nearshoring destination”, the U.S. official said.
He also asserted that the security transformation has contributed to creating a favorable climate for foreign investment and economic development.
“President Nayib Bukele’s law-and-order miracle has not only brought freedom and security to the salvadoran people, but is also creating one of the best investment climates in the entire region”, he said.

The Under Secretary indicated that the U.S. venture capital industry is observing with interest El Salvador’s strategy focused on strengthening technological supply chains and innovation-related projects.
He highlighted the existing high-level technological investments in El Salvador and stated that they expect growth in projects related to artificial intelligence and data centers.
“We expect them to continue growing with new projects linked to artificial intelligence and data centers”, he emphasized.
He also noted that the delegation seeks to hear the salvadoran government’s vision and explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in sectors considered strategic for regional development.

Orr also affirmed that El Salvador has become one of the United States’ main partners in the region and highlighted the progress in implementing the reciprocal trade agreement between the two nations.
“El Salvador has far exceeded our expectations. President Nayib Bukele’s leadership is generating prosperity and attracting sophisticated, high-level investments”, he said.
The visit is part of ongoing outreach between U.S. representatives and salvadoran authorities to strengthen economic ties, identify new business opportunities, and promote projects related to technology, energy, and innovation.
