The Alto Impacto Soyapango led by the Fundación Rafael Meza Ayau in partnership with USAID and the Fundación Empresarial para la Acción Social (FUNDEMAS) held the fourth edition of the SoyaEmpleo job fair aimed at supporting residents of the municipality of Soyapango, where 500 positions were made available by 18 companies allied with the project.
The Alto Impacto Soyapango seeks to improve the quality of life of the families of Soyapango, through the articulation of key sectors to increase opportunities for economic and social development of the municipality. The Project, led by FRMA and working with USAID and FUNDEMAS, implements the economic growth component that seeks to establish social and business connection mechanisms and coordinate activities that promote employment for Soyapango residents with an emphasis on women. This includes strengthening the soft skills of young people and placing individuals in the labor market through employment promotion services led by the Project, such as the SoyaEmpleo Job Fair. The fair was attended by well-known companies in the municipality and in the country that offered more than 500 job vacancies.
Proyecto Alto Impacto Soyapango promotes strategies in favor of environmental sustainability, so in this edition of the fair, the reduction of paper use was promoted, the delivery and collection of resumes was mainly by digital means and users were able to participate in recycling activities.
The main objective of the job fair is to bring the labor supply and demand of the municipality and generate employment opportunities for Soyapanecos. In this fair, participants were able to have contact with companies, conduct interviews, present their professional resume, among other aspects that benefice the applicants to the different job opportunities in which they can participate.
The Proyecto Alto Impacto Soyapango is being implemented in the municipality since may 2021 with an investment of US$3.9 million, Alto Impacto Soyapango focuses on four main components:
Collective impact, which seeks to create alliances between different local actors to favor the development of the municipality; 1) Economic growth, with the objective of establishing articulation mechanisms between social and business actors and initiatives for labor insertion and the strengthening of micro and small businesses, in addition to strengthening the local association FONDESOY to manage collaborative actions; 3) Youth development, to influence in the development of technological skills of students and teachers, improving the learning process and access to high quality education, and 4) Early childhood, seeks to encourage investment and implementation of strategies aimed at early childhood for their comprehensive development.
