With an investment of US$7.3 million, AES El Salvador started up its new Centro Integral de Operaciones, a modern facility that will allow it to efficiently, intelligently, and centrally monitor and manage its electricity distribution network through different technological platforms, benefiting the 1.6 million clients of its companies AES CAESS, AES CLESA, AES EEO and AES DEUSEM.
Abraham Bichara, CEO of AES El Salvador, highlighted the importance of this initiative as the beginning of ‘a new digital era’ in AES operations. Today we are not only inaugurating a new center, but we are opening the doors to a more modern energy future, integrating cutting-edge technology into our operations, and placing our customers at the center of everything we do’, he said.

Daniel Bernardez, Vice President of Operations of AES El Salvador, emphasized that this advance represents ‘a qualitative leap in the technical and operational capacity’ of the company, as it combines a modern infrastructure with first class digital platforms.

“The Centro Integral de Operacionesis a response to the key challenges of the electricity sector, such as the need to manage from a single place the different technologies required for efficient electricity distribution, such as: operating and commercial platforms, intelligent networks – better known as Smart Grid -, among others”, explained Bernardez.
The new Centro Integral de Operacioneshas a national scope and is supported by an alternate center located at AES CLESA’s technical plant in San Rafael, Santa Ana, ready to be activated in case of any contingency.

Both Bichara and Bernardez agreed in recognizing the efforts of the teams that made this progress possible. “What once seemed like a long-term vision, today is a tangible reality. This is an achievement with a human face”, concluded Bichara.

With this inauguration, AES El Salvador consolidates its commitment to innovation and development, and sets a new course in the evolution of salvadoran electricity distribution, thus accelerating the future of energy.
