In its latest data update, the Comisión Ejecutiva Portuaria Autónoma (CEPA) reported that, from january 1 to september 8, 2024, the Port of Acajutla has registered the mobilization of more than 3.8 million metric tons in imports and exports. This significant volume reflects a robust port activity in the period.
In terms of containers, a notable increase of 10.8% has been observed, with a total of more than 103 thousand units mobilized. Additionally, 178,800 TEUs were registered, which is an increase of 8.4%, indicating an increase in the port’s efficiency and capacity.
The Air Cargo Terminal at El Salvador’s International Airport has shown a significant increase in cargo movement. To date, more than 22.5 million kilograms of imports and exports have been handled, representing an increase of 26% compared to the previous year.
These data reflect the continued dynamism and growth of the country’s transportation and logistics infrastructure, highlighting El Salvador’s capacity to handle a growing volume of both maritime and air trade.
