Throughout the month of may, El Salvador will celebrate Europe Month, an initiative led by the European Union Delegation in collaboration with the embassies of Germany, Spain, France, and Italy, as well as its cultural centers in the country and the private sector.

This celebration, which commemorates Europe Day (May 9) and the historic Schuman Declaration of 1950, seeks to bring the salvadoran public closer to the diversity, history, and shared values of the European peoples through a broad cultural, culinary, educational, and sports agenda.
The European Union Ambassador to El Salvador emphasized at the opening ceremony that “Europe Month is an opportunity to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between El Salvador and Europe, and to share the values of unity, peace, and solidarity that inspire the European Union”.

Among the main activities is the 14th edition of the European Film Festival, which this year will bring free screenings of contemporary European cinema to public spaces such as squares, parks, and cultural centers, opening new windows of dialogue through the art of cinema.
The program will also include gastronomic events, art exhibitions, concerts, educational workshops, and sports activities designed for the entire family.

With this celebration, the European Union reaffirms its commitment to fostering mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and strengthening strong bilateral relations between Europe and El Salvador. The full program is available on the website www.mesdeeuropa.com and on the European Union’s social media channels.
