The Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, announced that the Ministry of Labor will collaborate closely and constantly with more than 1,400 Occupational Safety Committees throughout El Salvador. This strategy aims to strengthen the verification of compliance with occupational safety standards in workplaces, a responsibility that, by law, corresponds to these committees.
According to Castro, effective communication between the committees and the Ministry will be key to preventing occupational accidents, given that there are not enough inspectors to cover the country quickly and accurately. This coordination will allow for better supervision in the workplace and to act proactively in identifying risks.
The minister emphasized the importance of this joint effort by pointing out that they will work on a “single vision”, where both the committees and the Ministry’s teams will join forces to reduce occupational accidents. The goal is not only to minimize incidents, but also to come closer to eradicating them in the future.
The Occupational Safety Committees are key to ensuring the well-being of workers, as they are responsible for monitoring working conditions and ensuring that proper safety measures are followed. With this new strategy, the Ministry of Labor seeks to strengthen its role in protecting the rights of employees throughout the country.
This alliance is a sign of the Salvadoran government’s commitment to creating safer work environments, directly benefiting workers and contributing to the development of a culture of prevention in the world of work.
