El Índice de Volumen de la Actividad Económica (IVAE) closed august 2025 with an estimated figure of 130 points, remaining above the levels recorded in previous months. This stability reflects the continued momentum in areas such as construction, commerce, and information and communications.
These figures were released in the most recent report published by the Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador (BCR) on friday, october 31.

Sectors driving the economy
During august, the construction sector positioned itself as one of the main drivers of growth, reaching an index of 197.60. Financial and insurance activities also reported a high level, reaching 179.24. Commerce, transportation, and storage reached 133.56 points, confirming its importance to the overall economy.
Professional and scientific services, with 150.50 points in August, and information and communications, with 137.67, continued to show dynamism, contributing significantly to the national performance.

Monthly comparison and outlook
Compared to july, the IVAE (Index of Economic Activity) showed a slight decrease of 0.52 points, but remains at historically high levels for El Salvador. This performance demonstrates a resilient economy, capable of sustaining growth thanks to sectoral diversification and stability in most productive sectors.
The august figures reinforce the positive outlook for the remainder of the year, especially if the investment and consumption trends observed in the leading sectors continue.
