The Government of El Salvador continues to make progress in the restitution of rights and assets to thousands of families who were victims of real estate scams, particularly by the company Corporación Argoz S.A. de C.V. Through the National Housing System, technical and legal solutions have been implemented to ensure legal certainty and access to decent housing for those affected.

The minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, recently delivered 161 property deeds to families distributed in 20 lots in 10 departments of the country. This delivery represents a recovered investment of more than $1.6 million, in favor of those who for years waited for justice. “Today these families have their deeds thanks to the coordinated work of the National Housing System”, said the official.
With this new delivery and a previous day held weeks ago, there are now more than 320 legalized lots, reaching a total recovery of $3.2 million in family investment. This effort reflects the commitment of President Bukele’s government to repair the damages caused by decades of negligence and impunity in the real estate sector.

The Fiscalía General de la República has accompanied the process through legal actions against those responsible for these crimes. In 2023, arrests were made for aggravated fraud, irregular commercialization of real estate and money laundering. “We managed to keep the Argoz people in prison, and we continue working for justice”, assured Mariela Castro, deputy director of Society Interests of the FGR.
According to official figures, the regularization process has allowed more than 65,901 families affected by the Argoz company to recover their assets, with a total value exceeding $659 million. The Government reiterates its commitment to continue working until each affected family receives the response they were denied for decades.
