The Government of El Salvador continues its work of justice and restitution, by recovering US$1.6 million for families who were victims of fraud by Corporación Argoz S. A. de C. V. In a new day of delivery of deeds, more than 160 families from eight departments received the legal documentation that accredits them as legitimate owners of their land, after decades of waiting and uncertainty.

The Minister of Housing, Michelle Sol, led the delivery ceremony and reiterated the commitment of the current administration to return what rightfully belongs to the population. “Today we are returning what was stolen, fulfilling a promise of justice for those who were forgotten for more than 30 years. We are recovering US$1.6 million in this delivery”, she said.
The impact of this action adds up to a historic recovery of more than US$610 million, benefiting more than 61,000 families nationwide. These actions are part of the presidential mandate to provide legal certainty and reparations to thousands of Salvadorans affected by past abuses.
This effort is led by the Mesa de Casos Colectivos, which brings together the Ministerio de Vivienda, Fiscalía General, Defensoría del Consumidor and CNR and seeks to repair damages to families affected by decades of institutional neglect. The coordinated work has made it possible to return millions in lost patrimony and advance towards real housing justice in El Salvador.
