The Ministry of Finance of El Salvador announced a special day of benefits for taxpayers who present their proof of income tax return, as part of the actions to encourage tax compliance in the country.
The initiative will take place on wednesday, april 29, 2026, the day on which people will be able to present their declaration certificate (either in digital or physical format) at different allied businesses and access exclusive promotions. The measure seeks to recognize those who comply with this tax obligation within the established period.
According to official information, the benefits include discounts and promotions in a variety of commercial establishments, mainly in the gastronomic, retail and services sectors. Among the participating brands are Popeyes, St. Jack’s, San Martín, Burger King, Pollo Real, Impresa Repuestos, EPA, Roadmarket, Oveja Negra, Beto and Salomé Coffee, among others.
Promotions vary depending on the business. For example, some establishments will offer discounts of 10% to 30% on select products, while others will provide benefits such as free products or special prices on certain menus or purchases. These offers will be available only during the indicated date and under specific conditions defined by each business.
To access the benefits, users must show a screenshot or the original document of their duly stamped income tax return. This condition guarantees that the incentives are taken advantage of by those who have already fulfilled their tax responsibility.
The campaign also reminds the population that the deadline to submit the income tax return expires on April 30, so this day works as an additional incentive for taxpayers to complete the process on time and avoid surcharges or penalties.
With this type of initiative, the Ministry of Finance seeks not only to promote a culture of tax compliance, but also to generate a positive impact on local consumption, by linking tax compliance with direct benefits for citizens.
