The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology of El Salvador has issued a mandatory memorandum addressed to public school principals, establishing new and rigorous disciplinary measures for the entry of students into schools. The document, signed by minister Karla Edith Trigueros, seeks to strengthen discipline, order, and personal appearance among the student community.

Beginning wednesday, august 20, school principals will be required to assume responsibility for personally supervising students at the entrance gates. They have been instructed to verify compliance with specific regulations related to uniforms, hairstyles, and student behavior upon entering the school.

Among the aspects to be monitored are the use of a clean and tidy uniform, an appropriate haircut, and proper personal appearance. Additionally, students are required to enter in an orderly manner and greet students respectfully. The memorandum emphasizes that principals must serve as models of order and discipline for the entire school community.

Failure by principals to comply with these requirements will be considered a serious breach of administrative responsibility. This could lead to disciplinary action. This measure reflects the authorities’ commitment to the continuous improvement of educational quality and the school environment.

The statement emphasizes that principals are primarily responsible for complying with these provisions, assuming their role as leaders within their respective institutions. With these actions, the Ministry of Education seeks to create an environment conducive to learning, where respect and discipline are fundamental values.
