A. M. The minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, gave an update this friday on the works being carried out in the Los Chorros section of the Panamericana highway.
The head of the institution pointed out that in addition to the works contemplated in this project, there are the intervention of slopes, among which there are three that are currently being worked on.
“We have been working from the crown of the slope to the lowest part of the slope. At this moment we have already removed about 10,000 cubic meters of earth. We continue working to be able to remove the material from the mountain, to lower it so that it has an inclination of approximately 50 degrees”, said the official.
In the area there is an extensive traffic management system in place to ensure a more efficient vehicular flow. In addition, public transportation has been provided from the terminals that go to the west of the country and those installed in the west to the capital.
The Viceministerio de Transporte (VMT) is monitoring the area to ensure that all units are circulating and providing service to the population. In addition, it is verified that they are charging the authorized fare. Verifications are also made at bus stops, so that the frequency of units is within the parameters that correspond to them.
“We are working hard; the teams have not rested. At noon, all the necessary works were already started. As of saturday more work will be added, because there is a quite representative progress. We know that this road is very important because of the traffic it represents”, explained Romeo Rodriguez.
He indicated that all the teams are working hard to speed up the development of the works being carried out at the site and others that are also being executed on this important road.
