The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) and the Fondo Especial de los Recursos Provenientes de la Privatización de ANTEL (FANTEL) organized the second Forum on “Emerging Technologies in Industry”, aimed at micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in the industrial and services sectors. During the event, a turnover of US$1.3 million achieved by the MSMEs benefited in the first six months of 2024 was highlighted, thanks to the implementation of technological tools in their processes.
Paul Steiner, president of CONAMYPE, said that this forum has had a notable acceptance and has considerably increased the number of participants. For this edition, the attendance of more than 150 MSME representatives is expected, interested in learning about emerging technologies and their impact on business growth and competitiveness.
The incubation methodology used by CONAMYPE in its strategy to support MSMEs has yielded significant results. By the end of 2023, 118 companies completed the incubation process, and 54 of them were able to access non-returnable seed capital. This allowed them to strengthen their operations and reach the outstanding turnover figure in a short period.
During the forum, conferences led by experts in digital transformation were held and key topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in production and the supply chain were addressed. In addition, drone applications in the industrial sector and the advantages of the japanese quality model were explored.
The event also included discussion panels and storytelling sessions, where entrepreneurs shared their experiences in the implementation of new technologies. These spaces allowed attendees to learn about success stories and adopt effective practices in their own businesses.
With initiatives like this, CONAMYPE reinforces its commitment to the sustainable development and competitiveness of salvadoran MSMEs, aligning itself with Objective 2 of the Cuscatlán Plan, which seeks to improve the sustainability of communities and families in the country.
