Dinero.com.sv had the opportunity to attend a revealing Huawei workshop in El Salvador, where the most significant advances in the company’s technology were presented, highlighting Huawei Cloud. The event highlighted Huawei’s profound vision of the future of cloud computing and its transformative applications for various industries.
José Roberto Rivas, Business Development manager for the Huawei Lab network, highlighted the evolution of Huawei Cloud, operational since 2018. He explained that the cloud goes beyond simple information storage, functioning as a complex ecosystem capable of integrating crucial components such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and data analytics.
Huawei Cloud’s Everything as a Service philosophy brings together computing, security and storage, vital elements in today’s digital environment. Rivas emphasized the importance of security in the face of online vulnerabilities and the exponential growth of e-commerce, with platforms that demand centralized databases and fast access to applications.
A crucial point addressed was the distinction between public and private clouds. Huawei Cloud operates as a public cloud with a global presence, highlighting its leadership in the Latin American region, where it is positioned as the third largest in the market since 2023. Its focus is “made in Latin America for Latin America”, driving data growth and service improvement.
One of Huawei Cloud’s most outstanding competitive advantages is its local presence with data centers in Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Peru. This infrastructure allows a significantly higher speed of access to information, with latencies of just 50 milliseconds, unlike other clouds whose data centers are mainly located in the United States.
Rivas concluded by highlighting the value of artificial intelligence, which must be applied strategically according to the use case and needs of each company. Huawei Cloud is presented as an open-source platform, facilitating integration with other solutions and accelerating the deployment of AI models, such as OpenAI and Gemini, in a matter of seconds.
