The latest public opinion poll by Consultoría Interdisciplinaria en Desarrollo S.A. (CID Gallup) in El Salvador reports that 92% of citizens view President Nayib Bukele’s administration positively. The study also reflects a favorable assessment of security policies and a positive perception regarding the country’s direction.
According to the results released by the firm, the president’s positive rating stands at 92% a figure that, according to CID Gallup, represents the highest level ever recorded for a leader during a comparable period since 1990.
Public security receives a 98% approval rating
Regarding public security, the study indicates that 98% of respondents express approval. This result reflects support for the country’s security strategy, as documented by CID Gallup.
Furthermore, 87% of those surveyed support the continuation of the “state of exception”, according to the released data. The firm links this finding to the cumulative total of more than 1,200 days without homicides, as noted in its presentation.
The “state of exception” is a measure adopted by the Salvadoran government in march 2022 as part of its strategy against gangs. The survey highlights the public support for its continuation.
Perception of the country’s direction
Another indicator highlighted by CID Gallup is the perception of the direction in which El Salvador is heading. According to the published results, 87% of participants believe the country is on the right track.
This sentiment is even stronger among young people aged 18 to 24, a group in which support reaches 96%. This figure reflects a particularly favorable view of the nation’s trajectory among respondents in that age range.
