The Red de Cooperativas FEDECACES, through its Fundación Asesores para el Desarrollo, is hosting the 11th edition of its Convención Internacional Cooperativa 2026 “Mujeres que Transforman”, on october 16–17. The event, held in San Salvador, brings together over 400 women leaders from the Latin American cooperative sector to foster their professional development, leadership skills, and training.
Taking place at the Sheraton Presidente Hotel, the event features representatives from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia, Paraguay, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. It serves as a space for sharing experiences, strengthening management capabilities, and building connections among women who hold leadership roles within their organizations and communities.

The opening remarks were delivered by Executive Director Claudia Juárez, while the official inauguration was conducted by Esperanza Zaldaña, president of Fundación Asesores para el Desarrollo, an entity affiliated with FEDECACES. The convention is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote learning and growth opportunities for women within the regional cooperative movement.
The program is structured around three thematic pillars: cooperativism, leadership, and the visibility of women; holistic well-being, decision-making, and enhanced productivity; and talent development as a tool for empowerment and personal branding. These themes aim to strengthen the participants’ professional competencies while highlighting the importance of nurturing their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Over the two-day event, eight sessions are being led by highly regarded specialists from El Salvador and several other countries, including Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Paraguay, and Nicaragua. The presentations are designed to share knowledge and practical tools that attendees can apply in their workplaces, in the management of their organizations, and in their own personal projects.
As a complementary feature, the convention also includes an entrepreneurship fair, showcasing brands associated with women from the cooperative sector. In this space, attendees can discover and purchase products such as fragrances, food items, jewelry, and beauty products, with the goal of providing visibility to women-led ventures and creating business opportunities.

Another notable feature is the quality certification endorsed by Mujeres Líderes América, an initiative promoted by the Fundación Ciencias de la Documentación of Spain. This recognition evaluates three aspects: the event’s content, its methodology, and its track record. The certification is reflected in the diplomas awarded to the participants.
With this eleventh edition, FEDECACES and its foundation, Asesores para el Desarrollo, aim to strengthen opportunities for training, the exchange of experiences, and networking among women leaders in the region. The convention seeks to contribute to the personal and professional growth of the attendees, as well as to foster greater participation by women in decision-making roles within the cooperative sector.
