The Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, informed that companies that did not deliver the Christmas bonus to their workers before december 20, the deadline established by law, will be sanctioned. These actions seek to guarantee compliance with labor rights throughout the country.
Castro explained that the Ministry of Labor will continue to carry out inspections during the whole month of December in different points of the national territory. The official emphasized that the Christmas bonus is a fundamental right of the workers and that not complying with it obliges the companies to face the corresponding legal consequences.
The Minister of Labor congratulated the companies that respected the deadline for the delivery of the Christmas bonus, between december 12 and 20, and highlighted their commitment with the workers. He also warned that the companies that did not comply will face penalties and fines.
To facilitate complaints, the Ministry of Labor made available several channels such as social networks, Call Center 130 and departmental delegations. These means allow affected workers to report irregularities in their places of employment.
Castro assured, that the inspection teams will act immediately upon receiving a complaint, moving directly to the companies reported. These measures are part of the government’s commitment to protect labor rights and promote a fair working environment.
