The Government of El Salvador, through CONAMYPE and the Ministerio de Turismo (MITUR), granted US$480,232.29 in non-reimbursable funds to 35 micro and small enterprises (MSEs) as part of the project “Development of Dynamic Micro and Small Enterprises for the Economic Reactivation of El Salvador”. This initiative is supported by KOICA, ESCO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and UNDP.

The financing seeks to strengthen innovative enterprises in strategic sectors such as agribusiness, tourism, science, technology, engineering, and innovation. The selected companies met requirements such as having been in operation for more than three years and not having received previous funding from CONAMYPE.
In this second installment of capital, the sectors with the highest representation were agribusiness (31%), tourism (23%) and services in scientific (17%) and technological areas (14%). In addition, companies led by women will contribute a 10% counterpart, while those led by men will contribute 20%.

The funds will finance investments in machinery and equipment, upgrades to production plants and tourist facilities, as well as technological services and advisory services to improve products and processes. This will enable MSEs to increase their competitiveness and expand their operations.
The beneficiary companies also received support to structure a bankable business plan, with emphasis on strategic investments such as furniture, technical assistance, and marketing. This support will strengthen their sustainability and access to financing in the future.

With this initiative, the Government of El Salvador reaffirms its commitment to economic development and innovation, supporting MSEs in their growth and contributing to the generation of employment and boosting the national economy.
