The Comisión Nacional de la Micro y Pequeña Empresa (CONAMYPE) announced the “Acelera tu MYPE” program, an initiative aimed at supporting 8,000 microenterprises through business acceleration programs and expanding their growth opportunities. As part of this process, 4,000 businesses will be eligible for up to US$9,000 in non-repayable funding.
The program is aimed at microenterprises seeking to take their businesses to the next level through tools designed to increase sales, improve profitability, and strengthen management. CONAMYPE notes that participants will also be able to receive specialized consulting and access to non-repayable funding mechanisms.
To participate, businesses must meet a series of requirements. These include having annual sales of up to US$100,000, having a maximum of six people, whether employees or family members, and having owners who are under 40 years of age at the time of registration.
One of the highlights of the call for applications is that both formal and informal businesses can participate, so formal status is not a barrier to applying for the program. The initiative seeks to include various types of microenterprises that have the potential to grow and improve their performance.
The call for applications covers businesses in various sectors. Examples mentioned by CONAMYPE include neighborhood stores, tourism-related businesses, beauty salons, and handicraft ventures, as well as other economic activities that meet the established criteria.
The support will focus on helping participants develop the skills to increase sales, boost profitability, and improve business management. In addition, participants selected for the program will have the opportunity to receive non-repayable grants.
