El Salvador continues its international positioning as an innovative tourist destination, thanks to the promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the ViajeroSV virtual platform. This tool facilitates access to exclusive promotions and connects the diaspora with a new offer: high-level medical tourism.
This initiative allows salvadorans abroad to undergo medical treatments with state-of-the-art technology, at affordable prices, while enjoying the natural beauties of the country. Centers such as Latid Fertility Center and Meditur are referents in this new way of traveling with purpose and wellness.
Latid Fertility Center stands out for being the first assisted reproduction center in the country accredited by REDLARA. Its medical director, Griselda Ramírez, pointed out that 20% of its patients come from abroad and that these treatments cost only a third of what they would pay in their countries of origin.
Meditur provides international-level medical services to compatriots who, for reasons of cost or insurance, do not have easy access to care in their places of residence. In addition, they combine their medical stay with tourist visits, reconnecting with their roots.
Both institutions emphasize that this type of tourism generates an integral experience by providing personalized attention, advanced technology, and human warmth. In this way, not only the health sector is strengthened, but also the local economy through the flow of visitors.
With this type of actions, the Salvadoran Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to diversifying the tourism offer and boosting the economy, consolidating El Salvador as a reference in medical tourism in the region.
