A modern municipal cemetery has been delivered this weekend to the inhabitants of the district of San Martin, municipality of San Salvador Oeste, where more than 100 thousand inhabitants live.
This is the first project of this type that the DOM builds in the country, while it advances in the execution of other two similar works in San Bartolomé Perulapía, in North Cuscatlán, and Izalco in East Sonsonate.
The new cemetery is built in an area of more than 34,423 square meters and consists of more than 3,510 niches, which will provide a dignified burial space for the inhabitants of this area of the country.
Among other components, it has 270 linear meters of asphalted streets with sidewalks and curbs on both sides as part of the external access, in addition to 90 linear meters that connect to the internal parking lot.
It also has a guardhouse, administrative area, storage area, restrooms, protective walls, subway wiring and hydraulic systems that allow for efficient rainwater drainage.
For the comfort of visitors, the new cemetery, which has been built with local labor, has green areas, lawns, and street lights, both inside and outside the cemetery. San Martin has been one of the districts of the department of San Salvador favored with a strategic work to solve one of the most essential needs of the citizens.
This is not the only project of the DOM in this area for 2 years ago more than 50 modern and safe streets were delivered in the Altavista residential area, which also includes the districts of Tonacatepeque, and Ilopango, benefiting more than 50,000 inhabitants within the framework of the National Plan of Bacheo.
