El Salvador is preparing for an exceptional vacation season, with the expectation of receiving 78 thousand international visitors during the august vacations. The President of the Instituto Salvadoreño de Turismo (ISTU), Eny Aguiñada, announced that these tourists will come mainly from the United States, Guatemala and Honduras, and it is estimated that they will generate an income of US$87 million in foreign currency.
Aguiñada emphasized that the ISTU is ready to face this high season with a series of special events. “One of the highest seasons for ISTU is coming, the august vacations”,she said. As part of the celebrations, a Carnavalito Agostino will be held on august 3 at the Parque Natural Balboa, offering music, entertainment and prizes for families.
Regarding logistics, the president emphasized that visitors will be well taken care of. “The logistics that we handle in the park is that visitors are not alone at any time, they are accompanied by guides. We have also incorporated certified guides for international tourists who do not speak Spanish”, explained Aguiñada.
The ISTU has ensured that all resources are available to offer the best possible experience. “We are ready for this season, there are 17 parks we are in charge of. All our staff, very collaborative, is available to give the best attention to each visitor”, the president indicated.
Likewise, on august 4, Cerro Verde will be the setting for the Coffee Xperience, an event where visitors can learn about the preparation of coffee and its history. In addition, the Puerta del Diablo Natural Park will also host another Carnavalito Agostino.
Finally, a tropical afternoon will be organized at Sunset Park, with the support of Centros Penales. The ISTU has promised a season full of activities to enjoy the natural and cultural beauty of El Salvador.
