A. M. The educational transformation in El Salvador is advancing steadily. The Vice President of the Republic, Felix Ulloa Jr., in his capacity as Rector of the Escuela Superior de Innovación en la Administración Pública (ESIAP), held a strategic meeting with the President of the Directorate of Integration, Alejandro Gutman, with the aim of strengthening the implementation of training programs that will benefit thousands of young people across the country.
During the meeting, Vice President Ulloa highlighted President Nayib Bukele’s commitment to youth, providing unprecedented educational opportunities. “We are building a new generation of young people who are more prepared and connected to the demands of today’s world”, he said, highlighting the importance of transformative education as a pillar of national development.
Alejandro Gutman, underscored the impact of the formative process being implemented. He pointed out that while in the past only 1% to 5% of young people from public schools had access to university, today that figure has risen to 50%, with the goal of reaching 100% coverage for all high school graduates in the public system.
To achieve this, efforts will be joined with ESIAP, led by its executive director, Claudia de Larin, to expand scholarship programs, starting with the eastern part of the country. This inter-institutional articulation with the Directorate of Integration seeks to continue consolidating the educational transformation process under the vision of President Bukele.
This articulated work reaffirms the government’s commitment to make higher education a right accessible to all, leaving behind its elitist character and turning it into a tool for social mobility and human development for salvadoran youth.
