With the goal of guaranteeing workers’ right to receive their bonuses without affecting employers’ financial stability, the Legislative Assembly approved a reform to the Labor Code on tuesday that will allow employers to pay their bonuses between october 20 and december 20 of each year.

The reform, presented at the initiative of the President of the Republic, seeks to give companies greater flexibility in delivering this benefit, without compromising workers’ right to receive a bonus for each year worked.
The measure was approved by a majority vote and will allow employers to plan their payments more efficiently, while workers will have greater certainty about receiving their bonuses on time over a longer period.

This change represents a significant adjustment to the salvadoran labor legal framework, aligned with the economic reality of many productive sectors, while always safeguarding workers’ acquired rights.
