The Proyecto Alto Impacto Usulután implemented by the Fundación Rafael Meza Ayau (FRMA) in partnership with AGRISAL through its Plaza Mundo brand, Bancoagrícola, and Universidad Gerardo Barrios (UGB), closed a year of strengthening the local economic ecosystem, promoting entrepreneurial skills and development opportunities in the eastern region.
Over the past year, the project’s Economic Growth component supported 50 entrepreneurs in the department of Usulután through a training process that covered financial education, administrative management, brand visualization, and budget planning. This strengthening has enabled participants to improve their competitiveness, expand their market reach, and consolidate more sustainable business models.

The consolidation day included a lecture given by a Bancoagrícola specialist, focused on responsible financial management, highlighting the importance of proper resource management to ensure family stability and business growth.

“At Bancoagrícola, we believe in the transformative power of financial education. Supporting entrepreneurs in Usulután in this process is part of our commitment to promoting purposeful economic growth that strengthens the well-being of families and boosts the local productive fabric”, said María Luz Castellanos, Brand manager at Bancoagrícola.
The intersectoral coordination model of the Proyecto Alto Impacto Usulután integrates efforts from the business, academic, and social sectors, generating tangible economic results. AGRISAL and Plaza Mundo have contributed with exhibition and commercial development spaces, as well as employability initiatives; Bancoagrícola has strengthened resource management capacities; and the UGB has provided technical assistance and training in management, technology, and marketing.
Among the highlights is the UsuMarket, developed in september, which created new marketing opportunities, increased sales, and boosted the local economy by directly connecting producers and consumers.

“This event represents the consolidation of a year of joint work and the continuation of an effort that continues to generate opportunities for families in Usulután. Thanks to the coordination between our partners, we are making progress in building purposeful and sustainable economic growth”, said Karen Massana, FRMA Project and Social Training manager.
With this event, FRMA, AGRISAL through Plaza Mundo, Bancoagrícola, and Universidad Gerardo Barrios reaffirmed their commitment to continue promoting the economic and social development of Usulután, promoting opportunities that contribute to the well-being and sustainability of the territory.
