As part of its commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of all, Bancoagrícola is launching the 33rd edition of its publishing project, El Salvador, A Magical Corner, titled El Salvador, the Language of Volcanoes. This work invites readers to discover the profound connection between the country’s geology and the identity of its inhabitants.
Since 1994, Bancoagrícola’s Cultural Development Program has served as a platform to showcase the natural, historical, and cultural richness of El Salvador. Through books, maps, calendars, and educational materials, the bank has promoted knowledge of and pride in our heritage, connecting generations and regions. This program is part of the bank’s institutional purpose: to promote sustainable development to achieve the well-being of all, and it has become an initiative that transforms knowledge into cultural action.
El Salvador, the Language of Volcanoes is a work that combines scientific research, archaeology, history, and photography to offer a visual and narrative experience connecting the geological past with the human present. The book is divided into four major geographic regions: the Northern Highlands, the Interior Valleys of the Central Basin, the Volcanic Mountain Range, and the Coastal Plain. Each chapter reveals how volcanic activity has been a source of fertility, biodiversity, culture, and resilience.
