The performance of the President of the Republic received a rating of 8.39 in 2025, according to the most recent survey by the Instituto Universitario de Opinión Pública (Iudop)of the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA), consolidating a high level of public approval. This result, although slightly below the peak reached in 2023, confirms that the population continues to value the presidential work positively, especially in matters of security, even though concerns related to the country’s economic situation persist.
According to the study entitled “The Salvadoran Population’s Opinion on the Year 2025: Stability in Security versus Fragility in the Economy”, the score of 8.39 reflects solid support for the administration, demonstrating that a significant portion of the citizen perceives important progress in key areas of public administration. The survey suggests that, for many salvadorans, achievements in security remain a determining factor when evaluating presidential performance.

The president’s approval rating over the past few years shows a trend of high levels of support. In 2020, he received a rating of 8.37, which fell to 7.54 in 2021, the lowest point of the period analyzed. Subsequently, in 2022, the rating rose again to 8.37, reaching its highest point in 2023 at 8.54, before declining to 8.13 in 2024.
The rebound observed in 2025, from 8.13 to 8.39, represents a recovery in public perception, indicating that, despite the economic challenges identified by the population, the government has managed to maintain a significant level of trust. This increase also suggests that the policies implemented in areas such as security continue to have considerable influence on public opinion.

However, the UCA’s IUDOP report also warns of a perception of economic fragility, implying that, although the population acknowledges progress in stability and control of insecurity, there are concerns related to the cost of living, employment, and the financial situation of households. This duality (high approval rating for security and concern about the economy) marks the context in which the 2025 rating is given.
Overall, the 8.39 rating given to the president in 2025 confirms significant public support, but also reflects a complex scenario, where security stability coexists with growing demands for improvements in the economic sphere. The result suggests that the main challenge for the government will be to maintain the achievements recognized by the population, while strengthening economic policies to address the concerns that still persist among salvadorans.
