
The US Embassy in El Salvador highlighted the visit of Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, Orr, to the Data Trust data center, the country’s first Tier III certified commercial data center, considered a milestone for the development of El Salvador’s digital infrastructure.
During the tour, the US official met with the CEO of Aristos Technologies, Edwin Escobar, with whom he discussed the opportunities El Salvador is generating in the technological field, especially in projects related to artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation.

The visit was part of a broader agenda in which Under Secretary Orr was accompanied by a delegation from US economic agencies and venture capital representatives. The group learned firsthand about the capabilities of Data Trust’s AI data center, emphasizing its role as key infrastructure for regional technological development.
According to the Embassy, one of the main topics discussed was how U.S. companies can collaborate with El Salvador to strengthen digital infrastructure and promote artificial intelligence, thereby fostering innovation, investment, and shared growth between the two countries.

The visit also highlighted El Salvador’s position as an emerging destination for high-level technology projects, in a context where global demand for digital services, data storage, and AI solutions continues to expand.
With this visit, both parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in consolidating strategic alliances that contribute to the development of El Salvador’s technology ecosystem and the attraction of new international investment in the sector.
