The Corporación de Exportadores de El Salvador (COEXPORT) announced a collaborative alliance with the Instituto RETOS to promote technical training programs related to international trade and the export sector. This initiative aims to prepare professionals with the skills currently demanded by the market.
The announcement was made during the Business Meeting organized by the Fundación Toruño Steiner and the Instituto RETOS, an event that brought together representatives from the productive, academic, and business sectors to promote the development of specialized talent and strengthen the country’s competitiveness.
Through this alliance, both institutions will work together to develop educational programs that combine theoretical learning with practical experience within companies, allowing participants to acquire knowledge directly related to the needs of the export sector.
According to COEXPORT, the active participation of companies will be a fundamental element of this initiative, as it will allow students to learn firsthand about the processes, challenges, and opportunities that exist in areas related to international trade.

The president of COEXPORT, Silvia Cuéllar, emphasized that training professionals with practical experience is key to strengthening the competitiveness of salvadoran companies and responding to the demands of an increasingly dynamic economic environment.
“We support initiatives that train professionals with practical experience and skills aligned with the needs of businesses”, said the representative of the trade association.
The project will be implemented under the Sistema Dual model, a methodology that integrates classroom instruction with on-the-job training within companies. This approach seeks to reduce the gap between academic training and the real needs of the labor market, facilitating better preparation for future professionals.

Representatives from the Instituto RETOS emphasized that these types of partnerships strengthen specialized technical education in strategic areas for the country’s economic development. They also noted that collaboration between academia and the productive sector is fundamental to generating new opportunities for growth and employment.
The institutions agreed that strengthening human talent will be a determining factor in boosting export growth, increasing business competitiveness, and contributing to El Salvador’s economic development.
With this alliance, COEXPORT and the Instituto RETOS aim to create a new generation of professionals prepared to meet the challenges of international trade, while simultaneously supporting the growth and modernization of El Salvador’s export sector.
