The Cámara de Comercio e Industria de El Salvador (Camarasal), through its Centro de Mediación y Arbitraje (CMA) and Club Español e Iberoamericano del Arbitraje (CEIA), Salvadoran Chapter, signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen arbitration and mediation as alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
The alliance seeks to promote academic, technical, and institutional initiatives that strengthen legal certainty, foster a culture of dialogue, and contribute to improving the investment climate, business competitiveness, and the country’s economic development.

Camarasal president Leticia Escobar stated that companies need specialized and efficient tools to resolve conflicts, and that this effort will contribute to consolidating arbitration and mediation as mechanisms that provide greater certainty for doing business.
As part of the agreement, both institutions will develop training programs, exchange best practices, and conduct international outreach activities. Furthermore, they will organize The Arbitration Week, considered one of the leading arbitration events in Central and Latin America.

The event will include the XVI Convención Centroamericana y del Caribe de Centros de Arbitraje, focused on topics such as digital transformation, cybersecurity, and modernization of arbitration centers, as well as the II El Salvador International Arbitration Congress, which will address challenges in the construction, technology, and energy sectors, in addition to the impact of artificial intelligence on arbitration practice.
With this agreement, Camarasal and CEIA Capítulo Salvadoreño seek to strengthen the salvadoran arbitration ecosystem, generating greater confidence for investment and better conditions for the country’s economic development.
