El Salvador will add a new direct air connection to Europe starting in december, following the signing of an agreement that incorporates Air Europa into the country’s connectivity network. The new route will directly link San Salvador with Madrid and is part of the strategy to strengthen investment, tourism, and business opportunities.
President Nayib Bukele participated in the signing of the agreement, highlighting the importance of expanding international connectivity as a tool to boost economic development and bring the country closer to new markets.
With this new service, El Salvador seeks to facilitate trade, business, and tourism with Europe, as well as offer a direct flight alternative that reduces travel times for investors, businesspeople, and visitors.

During the announcement, the government stated that the arrival of Air Europa represents a commitment to further positioning the country internationally, with the goal of attracting more airlines, increasing tourist traffic, and generating new investment opportunities.
President Bukele also announced, via his Twitter account, that this will be the first stage of a strategy to expand air connectivity with the European continent.
“A new airline will connect us with Europe, starting with direct flights to Madrid and, very soon, to other cities”, the president posted.
The addition of Air Europa expands connectivity options between El Salvador and Europe, a factor often considered by companies and investors when evaluating destinations for developing projects or expanding operations.

In addition to boosting tourism, a greater supply of international flights strengthens the business climate by facilitating the mobility of executives, investors, and trade delegations, as well as the development of activities related to foreign trade and investment.
With the opening of this new direct route to Madrid, scheduled for december, El Salvador continues to expand its network of international connections with the expectation of strengthening its competitiveness, attracting new investments, and consolidating itself as a strategic connection point between the Americas and Europe.
