During the August holiday period, the Dirección General de Aduanas de El Salvador kept its staff active at the country’s main land borders to provide faster, safer, and more personalized service to travelers entering and leaving the national territory.
Customs Director Benjamín Mayorga reported that the institution’s teams remained operational throughout the holiday season to ensure continuity of service and facilitate the transit of tourists and salvadorans crossing the borders.
As part of the implemented measures, Customs set up free Wi-Fi hotspots to support traveler communication, as well as welcome and farewell areas with hot coffee and snacks for those completing their paperwork and visiting the border crossings.

Mayorga highlighted the support of the private sector through companies accredited as Operadores Confiables, which joined these service initiatives. Among them, he mentioned Lactolac, which participated at the El Amatillo and Las Chinamas border crossings by distributing yogurt products to visitors.
He also thanked Boquitas Diana and Bocadeli for their contribution of snacks, actions which, he indicated, helped create a more welcoming experience for people crossing the borders during the holidays.

The official acknowledged the work of Customs personnel for their commitment and willingness to help during the season, highlighting that these actions reflect the coordination between public institutions and private companies to improve service to the public.
With these measures, Customs seeks to strengthen border services and offer a more efficient and user-friendly experience to those using the country’s entry and exit points.
